Cookie Policy of TeamCalendar.com

This document informs Users about the technologies that help TeamCalendar.com to achieve the purposes described below. Such technologies allow the Owner to access and store information (for example by using a Cookie or the browser's local storage) or use resources (for example by running a script) on a User's device as they interact with TeamCalendar.com.

For simplicity, all such technologies are defined as "Trackers" within this document – unless there is a reason to differentiate. The term Cookies is only used where it is specifically meant to indicate that particular type of Tracker.

Some of the purposes for which Trackers are used may also require the User's consent, depending on the applicable law. Whenever consent is given, it can be freely withdrawn at any time following the instructions provided in this document.

TeamCalendar.com uses Trackers managed directly by the Owner (so-called "first-party" Trackers) and Trackers that enable services provided by a third party (so-called "third-party" Trackers). Unless otherwise specified within this document, third-party providers may access the Trackers managed by them.

The validity and expiration periods of Cookies and other similar Trackers may vary depending on the lifetime set by the Owner or the relevant provider. Some of them expire upon termination of the User's browsing session.

At a glance

  • Google Analytics 4 measures traffic with its own cookies. The addresses it receives have calendar and upgrade links blanked out.
  • Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout pages when you buy a paid plan.
  • Google Ads sets advertising cookies to measure which ads bring visitors and to show relevant ads. You can turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings.
  • Ads and offers from advertisers link to third-party sports-related websites, which set their own cookies once you visit them.

How TeamCalendar.com uses Trackers

Necessary

TeamCalendar.com uses so-called "technical" Trackers to carry out activities that are strictly necessary for the operation or delivery of the Service.

Trackers managed by the Owner

Browser local storage (TeamCalendar.com)

When you build a calendar, TeamCalendar.com keeps three entries in your browser's local storage: cid (the address of the calendar this browser created, so a returning visitor finds it), selectedTeams (the teams picked) and selectedSeasons (the seasons picked). Local storage is not a cookie: these entries are never sent to TeamCalendar.com's servers as cookies, and they stay on your device until you clear this site's data.

Personal Data processed: none beyond the calendar address and the selections above. No name, email address or phone number is stored.

Customer sign-in session (TeamCalendar.com)

Customers who bought a paid plan sign in without a password, by asking for a one-time sign-in link sent by SMS or email. Once the link is used, TeamCalendar.com sets a first-party session Cookie that keeps the customer signed in. It is strictly necessary for signed-in use and is not used for analytics or advertising. Visitors who do not sign in never receive it.

Operator sign-in (TeamCalendar.com)

The back office at /tc-admin, used only by TeamCalendar.com's operators, uses sign-in cookies to keep an operator signed in. Public visitors and customers never receive them.

Trackers managed by third parties

Stripe Checkout (Stripe, Inc.)

When you buy a paid plan, you are sent to Stripe's own Checkout pages (checkout.stripe.com). There, Stripe sets its own Cookies for payment and fraud prevention. They are governed by Stripe's Cookie Policy, and you can review them in Stripe's cookie settings. TeamCalendar.com does not set or read them.

Place of processing: United States – Privacy Policy.

Google sign-in (Google LLC)

The operator login page uses Google sign-in (accounts.google.com), and Google sets its own Cookies there. Public pages do not use Google sign-in.

Place of processing: United States – Privacy Policy.

Functionality

The local-storage entries described under "Necessary" also serve basic functionality: they let TeamCalendar.com show you the calendar and teams you chose last time. TeamCalendar.com uses no other functionality Trackers.

Experience

TeamCalendar.com loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which does not set Cookies. It does not use Trackers to embed other content from external platforms or networks.

Measurement

TeamCalendar.com uses Trackers to measure traffic and analyze User behavior to improve the Service.

Trackers managed by third parties

Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC)

Google Analytics 4 is a web analysis service provided by Google LLC ("Google"). Its script (gtag.js, from googletagmanager.com) is loaded only when a measurement id is configured for the site. Google uses the Data collected to track and examine the use of TeamCalendar.com and to prepare reports on its activities.

TeamCalendar.com limits what Google receives: every page view is sent with calendar addresses and upgrade links blanked out of the URL (for example, a calendar page is reported as /app/:slug), and the query string and fragment are never sent. In Google Analytics 4, IP addresses are used at collection time and then discarded before Data is logged in any data center or server.

In order to understand Google's use of Data, consult their partner policy and their Business Data page.

Personal Data processed: number of Users, session statistics, Trackers and Usage Data.

Place of processing: United States – Privacy Policy – Opt out.

Trackers duration:

  • _ga: 2 years
  • _ga_<id>: 2 years

Marketing

TeamCalendar.com uses Trackers to measure its advertising and to deliver personalized ads.

Trackers managed by third parties

Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing (Google LLC)

Google Ads is an advertising service provided by Google LLC. TeamCalendar.com uses it to measure which of its ads lead people to the site and to buy a paid plan (conversion tracking), and to show relevant ads, including ads for TeamCalendar.com on other websites (remarketing and personalized advertising). Google sets advertising Cookies such as _gcl_au on TeamCalendar.com, and its own advertising Cookies on Google and DoubleClick domains.

Personal Data processed: Trackers and Usage Data.

Place of processing: United States – Privacy Policy – How Google uses advertising data – Opt out.

Trackers duration:

  • _gcl_au: 90 days
  • Google's advertising Cookies on Google and DoubleClick domains: set by Google

Advertisers' offers and links to sports-related websites

TeamCalendar.com shows ads and offers from advertisers that link to sports-related websites. A link may carry a referral or campaign identifier so the advertiser knows the visit came from TeamCalendar.com. Once you follow it, you are on a third-party website that sets its own Cookies under its own privacy and cookie policies; TeamCalendar.com does not set, read or control them. Sharing your email address with an advertiser whose offer you choose is described in the Privacy Policy and never relies on Cookies.

How to manage preferences on TeamCalendar.com

With regard to any third-party Trackers, Users can manage their preferences via the related opt-out link (where provided), by using the means indicated in the third party's privacy policy, or by contacting the third party.

How to control or delete Cookies and similar technologies via your device settings

Users may use their own browser settings to:

  • see what Cookies or other similar technologies have been set on the device;
  • block Cookies or similar technologies;
  • clear Cookies or similar technologies from the browser.

Clearing this site's data (sometimes called "site data" or "website data") removes both its Cookies and its local-storage entries. After that, TeamCalendar.com will no longer remember the calendar you built in that browser — keep a copy of your calendar's address if you want to find it again. Your calendar itself keeps working in every calendar app it is subscribed in.

The browser settings, however, do not allow granular control of consent by category.

Users can, for example, find information about how to manage Cookies and site data in the most commonly used browsers at the following addresses:

How to opt out of Google Analytics

Users can stop Google Analytics from measuring their visits on every site, including TeamCalendar.com, by installing Google's Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking or deleting the _ga Cookies in their browser settings.

How to opt out of interest-based advertising

Users can turn off personalized ads from Google, including those based on visits to TeamCalendar.com, in Google Ads Settings, and can block or delete Google's advertising Cookies (such as _gcl_au) in their browser settings. They can also ask TeamCalendar.com not to share their information for advertising on the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page or by emailing support@teamcalendar.com. More generally, Users may follow the instructions provided by YourOnlineChoices (EU and UK), the Network Advertising Initiative (US) and the Digital Advertising Alliance (US), or similar services.

Consequences of denying the use of Trackers

Users are free to decide whether or not to allow the use of Trackers. Blocking Google Analytics or Google Ads has no effect on how TeamCalendar.com works. Blocking the customer sign-in session Cookie means a customer cannot stay signed in. Blocking local storage means TeamCalendar.com cannot remember the calendar and teams you picked between visits. Blocking Stripe's Cookies may prevent a payment from completing on Stripe's checkout page.
